Walker graduated from Germantown Friends School situated in Philadelphia's Germantown district in 1994. Then, in 1998 she received her degree at Harvard College with a Bachelor's degree. Welker has been happily married for more than 20 years to John Hughes who is a prominent marketing director for Merck Philadelphia. The couple have two children.
